MASSAGE THERAPY FAQ

Good questions deserve clear answers.

What to expect, how to choose, and what you are always allowed to ask before or during your massage.

01

Choosing your session

Do I need to choose deep tissue or Swedish massage?

No. Those techniques are tools rather than rigid service categories. We will discuss your goals and combine the pressure, pace, and approach that make sense for you.

Should I book 60, 90, or 120 minutes?

Sixty minutes works well for one primary concern or maintenance. Ninety minutes is the best starting point for most first visits. Choose 120 minutes when several areas need attention or you want especially comprehensive care.

What is different about craniosacral therapy and reflexology?

Craniosacral therapy uses very light, sustained contact in a quiet, fully clothed session. Reflexology is also fully clothed and centers on structured pressure and touch across the feet.

Can a therapeutic massage still be relaxing?

Yes. Focused work and relaxation are not opposites. A session can address specific tension while maintaining a comfortable, cohesive pace.

02

Comfort and boundaries

How much clothing do I remove?

Only as much as you are comfortable removing. Massage can be adapted around clothing that remains on, though it may change which techniques are practical.

How does draping work?

You remain covered by a sheet and blanket. Only the area being worked is uncovered, and professional boundaries and secure draping are maintained throughout the session.

Can I change the pressure or ask you to avoid an area?

Absolutely. You may request a change, decline a technique, establish an area you do not want worked, or end the session at any time.

Am I expected to talk during the massage?

No. Some clients enjoy conversation and others prefer quiet. There is no social expectation to fill the silence.

03

Health and aftercare

Should deep-tissue massage hurt?

It may feel strong or focused, but pain is not the goal. Tell me if pressure feels sharp, overwhelming, or causes you to brace or hold your breath.

When should I postpone massage or seek medical care?

New injuries, severe or unexplained pain, neurological symptoms, signs of infection, fever, or other concerning changes should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional. Massage does not diagnose or replace medical treatment.

How might I feel after massage?

Many people feel relaxed, lighter, or more mobile. Some notice temporary tenderness or fatigue after focused work. Responses vary, and future sessions can be adjusted based on yours.

How often should I schedule?

There is no universal schedule. Frequency depends on your goals, response, preferences, and budget. I can offer a recommendation, but ongoing care is always your decision.

04

Booking, payment, and policies

Can I request an appointment without creating a Vagaro account?

Yes. The booking page includes a separate appointment-request option. Submit the short form and I will contact you to confirm an available time.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session time may be charged 50% of the session price.

What forms of payment are accepted?

All major debit and credit cards are accepted, and you are also welcome to pay with cash.

Is gratuity expected?

Gratuity is never expected, but it is appreciated. If you would like to add one, please mention it before checkout is completed.
